First off, I’ve got to say, my personal laptop has bit the dust, and now I’m stuck using a shitty computer at school or the library. So my posts will probably become less frequent as the weeks go on. Things will be back to normal as soon as I get a new computer.
So, it’s a new year, and that means new content.
I have been meaning to make this post since the first of the year, but never got around to it until now. This year I’m planning some pretty awesome stuff for the Swamp. In short; Youtube. I’ve recently gotten some new recording software and I’m anticipating the new recordings I can do with it.
We all know I had only one gameplay video posted here, and it was pretty sub-par. But with my new computer AND new recording software, the quality will be much better. I’ve also been practicing talking to myself (as strange as it sounds) to help with my recording jitters. I was always nervous going into a recording session because I was afraid I’d have nothing to talk about, but by talking to myself randomly, I’ve almost remedied that problem.
So needless to say, this Youtube thing is a pretty big deal to me. I really like gaming and have always wanted to share my shenanigans with the world, so what better outlet than Youtube?!
The official announcement trailer for Pokemon X & Y has been released. This is going to be the first handheld Pokemon game to feature 3D graphics.
Instead of going on a long rant about how I feel about this game, I want to here what you have to say, so I’ll conduct a little experiment; leave a one word comment about how you feel about this game, and I’ll tell you how I feel about it.
From a brilliant fan comes Street Fighter x Megaman.
This glorious creation is a completely fan-made project created by Singaporean Seow Zong Hui (aka Sonic) and it looks phenomenal. A brilliant 2d side-scrolling adventure game reminiscent of the classic Megaman games, Street Fighter x Megaman has you going through levels (also reminiscent of classic Megaman) where you will eventually fight iconic bosses from the Street Fighter series.
This is a strictly PC game and will be completely free-to-play. It’s launch date is December 17th.
To sum it all up, I’m madly in love with this project. If this lives up to all my expectations, you probably won’t be hearing from me for months, as I’ll be continuously be playing. Not to mention it’s free. ;D
I’ve just recently decided that it would be fun to share some history and my opinion on some characters from video games, books, and movies! Which brings us to the point of this little update, my Character Opinion Spots! These will be little features on characters I find cool and interesting and will be beginning today, starting with Hellboy.
So we finally have some details on the mysterious Project Destiny. In a leaked document sent out on November 27th, 2012, many concept photos and story-line details were leaked onto the internet.
The story is set 700 years in the future in humanity’s last city, in a solar system covered with the ruins of the golden age of humans. A massive alien ship known only as “the Traveler” hangs over earth like a second moon, know one knows what it’s purpose is. In the meantime, alien creatures swarm from the outer reaches of space, determined only to steal earth and the last city from the humans. We are described as “Young Knights” defending humanity from the alien threat.
The game was then went to be described as “Fun and accessible” and Bungie is hoping to have it be as in-depth as the Star Wars Universe. According to IGN, the game seems to be less mature than the previous Halo games created by Bungie. “Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure” Is what Bungie stated the game as being.

As an extra bonus for you all, here’s some of the concept art provided in the story.
I’m back! After a week (give-or-take) long break, I’m making a triumphant return!
So the main reason why I’ve been away is because I got a “real job.” That’s right, I’ve be consumed by the Dark Side. I’m now “proudly” employed by Old Navy and have been working there for the past two weeks. I can now firmly state that working retail sucks.
Going from having a YouTube “job” to having an actual one was quite a jump. This means I actually have to do something to get my money ( ;D ) and that I actually have superiors. I’m not in charge of my own income anymore. And it is strange!
The only nice thing I can really think about is having a fixed income. That means that I’ll always have the same amount of money be payed to me on a regular basis. My one complaint about YouTube was that the money was completely unreliable. I didn’t know when my next paycheck would be or how much it would be. Now I’m making a solid, unwavering amount of money.
Anyways, another reason (albeit somewhat personal) is that I have developed an early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. I don’t want to go too far into detail, but I’ll say I’ve had numerous head injuries and it has started to make an effect. I’ve been spending as much time with family as possible making memories that I know won’t last.
At that I’d like to apologize to all my friends ( yes I consider my readers to be friends) for my absence.
“OUYA is a powerful, beautifully-designed game console for the tv. It’s priced at $99 and all the games are free-to-play” is what the official website states. So what we can gather from this is that it is a cheap and affordable console, that has completely free games. Am I hearing this right?
The site the goes on to explain that the Ouya is powered by android, which in itself makes the machine seem powerful, but they then go on to state that the Ouya will be compatible with a 1080p tv. The developers have partnered with NVIDIA, which is typical responsible for creating the internal graphics for laptops and desktops. With that kind of graphical power, games will look beautiful. I couldn’t find any info on the actual processing power of the system, but it can be assumed that it will be top-of-the-line awesomeness.
Lastly, and in my opinion, best of all, this console is completely open-source. That means fully open resources and games. Best of all, you can modify the console to your heart’s content. The Ouya is built using standard screws, which makes access to the internal components easier than ever. They designed the console to be altered and hack. How awesome is that?!
UPDATE: I just found the specs for the console.
-Tegra3 quad-core processor
-8gb of internal flash storage
-WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
-Wireless controller with touchpad
-Android jelly bean
This time, our banned game leaves up in Denmark. You see, Denmark has some strict policies against the distribution of energy drinks. And if you’ve played EA Sports MMA, you’ll know that their is some energy drink product plugs. So what does Denmark do? Bans the whole freaking game. Seriously? Why not just censor out the energy drink ads? That would have made a hell of a lot more sense than banning the whole game!
But anyways, Hearts of Iron is another real-time strategy game, this one taking place in WWII (In which Tibet was a free nation mind you). Now, I’ve never actually played this game, so I can’t really talk much about gameplay, but I’d imagine it’s the standard rts game style.
So once again, we see the crazyness of China’s censorship laws. Be sure to tune in next week for another banned game of the week!!!
